Someshwar Jat is a 5 year old boy. When he was 7 months old, he fell ill and his parents consulted a local pediatrician who suggested he have an echocardiography. After this test Someshwar was diagnosed with a heart defect. His heart was not functioning properly. At a health camp conducted by Fortis Escorts Heart Institute at Jabalpur, the doctor suggested that Someshwar would require a cardiac procedure and he was further referred to Fortis Escorts Heart Institute (FEHI). Someshwar had a surgery at FEHI but after some time he started facing health issues again.
Someshwar’s father Surender, earns Rs. 3000 per month working as a laborer and is the only earning member in the family. With his limited income, he could not afford the treatment cost of this surgery.
As the child’s health was deteriorating every day, Fortis Foundation and Religare decided to support his treatment. Someshwar went through another surgery in July 217.
